Summer is here and I have been wearing my Yankee cap pretty much on a daily basis to shield my face from the sun's burning noon rays as I wait for the elusive taxi cab.

My ultimate dream is to go to The Big Apple. Buying the Yankee cap is a way for me to be constantly reminded of this goal, the one I will work on next after I finish paying off my flat. I thought at first that I might seem like a poser strutting around in a headgear representing a city I have never even been to. BUT that would be looking at things the wrong way. I am not a poser because I sincerely want to meet, greet and fall in love with that city. I have been smitten even from afar for almost 15 years.

I am crazy scared. It's a monster of a city, I heard, and a foreign one to me at that. Shit, even my city scares the heck out of me sometimes. For a homebody, dreaming of being in NYC seems to far-fetched but then again, 15 years ago, I felt the same way about having to find a job and getting a flat.

Dream big. Dream big.
