Apparently, New York Magazine believes Louis CK is one of the least influential people who made it on  Time Magazine's 100 list. Their reason for which is that he merely "made a TV show". Seems they've forgotten the social/anthropological implications of CK successfully selling his comedy special online, directly to the people, bypassing greedy big shot distributors, for 5 bucks a pop.

They've overlooked the fact that he made a 1 million dollars in 12 days doing so. At least one other famous comedian has already followed suit. Moreover, Louie broke even and then gave a substantial chunk of the profit to his company's employees (as bonuses) and to charity. He did tell Jimmy Fallon that he intends to have an additional penis implanted but, hey, it's his money.

ALSO, he did not just make a TV show. His Louie is one of the rawest, most brutally honest shows out there, and shows like that are very few and far between. That show isn't just funny, it's thought-provoking and poignant. And the network deal he has with FX wherein he has COMPLETE creative control? Priceless and practically unheard of.

True that at the end of the day, no matter how "reputable" a publication or a person giving the opinion is, it's just simply that... an opinion --- and so is this post.

I can't wait for this. First episode airs a week after my birthday. He'll also be releasing a new comedy special, WORD, mid-May on his site.

Ahhh. See, Louie, with you around, life is not shit wall to wall.

This post is no more than a fan ranting. Please excuse.
